About me
I am Akash Deb, a student in London interested in history, corporate law, finance and how institutions actually work. I enjoy breaking complex things apart and rebuilding them in a way that makes more sense.
Right now
I study A-Levels in History, Politics and English Literature at Westminster City School. My academic interests sit where history, power and institutions overlap — from revolutions and constitutions to the way modern states regulate markets and infrastructure.
Longer term, I’m exploring a career in commercial and corporate law, particularly where it connects with finance, infrastructure and regulation.
My work experiences
PRIME legal work experience — Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer
July - August 2025 (1 week)I shadowed solicitors in the Financial Sponsors team, sat in client meetings and saw how large, high-pressure deals are structured and negotiated. It strengthened my communication, teamwork and interest in detail-heavy legal work.
Volunteer Explainer — English Heritage (Kenwood House)
March 2025 - Present (Ongoing)I speak to visitors about the house’s art, architecture and history. It’s a chance to make historical context clear for people who have just wandered in from the Heath.
Freelance web projects
2022 - Present (Ongoing)I build small websites and tools for clients. It has taught me how to manage projects, communicate online and ship things that actually work. This site was built in Astro, TypeScript and minimal CSS.
In school
I am actively involved in various extracurricular activities at Westminster City School, including leadership roles and mentoring. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills.

This is where I write about history, politics, law and technology — and sometimes the spaces where they overlap. It also acts as a portfolio of what I build and how I think.
Outside of all that
I'm really interested in technology, travel and gaming. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places,, playing video games with my friends, and staying updated with the latest technology.
